Nykkia Sellers, DNP, FNP, BC-ADM, CDCES

Dr. Nykkia Sellers, NP is a board-certified family nurse practitioner (NP) with over 20 years of experience. She specializes in management of diabetes and other chronic diseases in adults. NP Sellers is a certified diabetes care and education specialist and has a board certification in Advanced Diabetes Management. She also holds a certification with the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.  

NP Sellers completed undergraduate training at Arkansas State University where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. While completing her studies, Nykkia was active in many organizations as well as Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. She obtained a Master of Science in Nursing degree from Arkansas State University and received a Program Scholar Award upon graduation. Additionally, she earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of South Alabama. 

Currently, Dr. Sellers serves on the Advisory Group for the Women’s Interprofessional Network of the American Diabetes Association. She has been invited to speak nationally to discuss diabetes management and awareness. She has published articles and developed diabetes courses for healthcare providers and professionals. She has been instrumental in creating and implementing diabetes awareness and education programs in the Mid-South area. 

She is a member of the American Diabetes Association, Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists, and several other professional organizations and societies. She has served on the Shelby County School’s NAF Health Science Academy Advisory Board. She is a recipient of the Johnson & Johnson BAND-AID® BRAND Black Healthcare Hero Scholarship. 

She is committed to empowering and equipping patients to take charge of their health to manage their diabetes. When Nykkia is not providing care or educating patients, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
